Environmental Responsibility

At Western Sydney Convention Centre, environmental responsibility and sustainability are a key focus as part of the Panthers Group’s commitment to driving positive change. Over the second half of 2024 and into 2025, the group has laid the groundwork for ambitious Sustainability Goals, supported by the creation of a dedicated Sustainability Team. This initiative positions Panthers as an industry leader in environmental responsibility.

Key priorities include adopting the latest eco-friendly technologies, transitioning to solar energy to reduce our carbon footprint, and meeting new Carbon Reporting requirements. While this journey will require time, resources, and collaboration, Pullman Sydney Penrith and WSCC are proud to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future for our community and industry.

We look forward to sharing our results over the coming years, as we journey down this path.

Solar Sustainability at WSCC

At Western Sydney Convention Centre is taking significant steps toward a more sustainable future through the installation of a large-scale solar energy system.

Delivered in partnership with Australian energy specialists Nectr Solar and Battery, the new solar installation will generate approximately 236 megawatt hours (MWh) of renewable energy each year. With a capacity of 172kW, the system will help power the Pullman Penrith and WSCC precinct with clean energy while reducing environmental impact.

The solar installation is expected to offset around 130 tonnes of carbon emissions annually while delivering estimated energy savings of approximately $72,000 per year. The project reflects the commitment of the Panthers Group to invest in solutions that reduce energy consumption, lower operating costs, and support long-term sustainability.

By embracing renewable energy, WSCC continues to strengthen its commitment to environmentally responsible business practices while delivering world-class events in a modern, sustainable venue.
